Country Profile – France
You may have heard that the French education system is one of the best in the world. This is true: France has a very good reputation for its universities, which are often ranked among Europe’s top 10. If you’re thinking about studying in France as an international student, it’s important to know that all of the courses that we work with at Eduropa OÜ are taught in English!
Country Profile.
Many students choose to study in France because of its rich culture and history. The French language is also very important, as it is the official language of France.
France offers many opportunities for travel within the country and abroad as well. You may choose to visit another country during your time at university or after graduation, since there are many things to see outside of Paris!
There are also plenty of work opportunities available for international students who wish to stay in France after they graduate from university or college–the best part about this is that these jobs can often be found locally so that you don’t have far away from home!
Study, Work and Stay in France.
Not only can you study in France, but you can also work at the same time! For students aged 18 or over who are enrolled in a higher education program, there is no limit on how long they stay on a student visa.
In order to get a work permit in France, you must first apply for an employment authorization. This process requires that you be in possession of a valid study visa. If your school is approved by the French government (and therefore qualifies as an “Etablissement d’Enseignement Supérieur”), then they may facilitate this process for you.
Each school has different policies regarding how many hours students are allowed to work while still remaining enrolled at their institution; however, most allow part-time jobs on top of classes and internships–just make sure not to exceed 20 hours per week!
Once your student visa comes into effect and expires after one year, if all goes well with both processes above then congratulations! You now have permission from both France & Belgium authorities allowing entry into both countries without further documentation required during stays lasting less than 90 days within any 180 day period (this includes holidays).
After your studies, you may be able to stay in France!
If you have a degree from a French university (or another European country), then you can apply for a residence permit. This allows you to work in France for up to three years–and if your job is related to research or innovation, it’s possible that this time limit will be extended by one year. After getting your work permit, there are other ways that international students can stay on as well. For example:
- If you start working at an establishment that has been operating for less than three years and employs fewer than 50 people; or
- Through self-employment; or even as an entrepreneur (if you have an innovative business idea).
You can apply for a work permit and residency permit if your degree is related to the work you want to do. These permits allow you to apply for long-term residence after five years as well as giving access to benefits provided by the Hungarian government.
Visa Application Requirements.
If you want to study in France, there are certain requirements that need to be met. At Eduropa OÜ we will go over what documents you need and how to get them.
- You need to have a valid passport.
- You must be enrolled in a university or college and have proof of enrollment, such as an acceptance letter or student ID card.
- You must have medical insurance policy that covers all medical costs during your stay in France (it can be purchased online here).
- You must prove that you have sufficient funds for your stay in France, which is usually done by submitting bank statements or other financial documents showing that you have at least EUR 10 000 available at all times while studying there.
Studying in France is a great way to improve your English and learn some French at the same time! You will gain an international perspective on life and have opportunities to travel around Europe as well as other parts of the world after graduation. Contact us if you wish to obtain more information!
