Country Profile – Hungary
Hungary is a country that has undergone many changes in recent years as it tries to attract more international students. At Eduropa OÜ, we will explain you and look at some of the reasons why you should study in Hungary.
Country Profile.
Hungary is one of the most popular destinations for international students to study abroad. The country offers a wide range of programs in English, affordable tuition fees and good quality education. Students can also work while studying in Hungary, which makes it easier for them to pay their fees and expenses without any financial problems.
The country has beautiful landscapes as well as historical sites that are worth visiting while you are here on campus or off campus during your free time! This makes it even more exciting because you get an opportunity not only learn new things but also explore different places around this beautiful city!
Hungary is considered one of Europe’s safest countries both when it comes to crime rates or natural disasters such as floods etc., so this provides peace-of-mind when making such important decisions like where do I want my future career/life path?
Study, Work and Stay in Hungary.
You can work at the same time as studying and earn money to pay for your tuition fees, or even better: you can earn enough money to cover your living expenses.
For example, if we take into account the average monthly salary in Hungary is around €600-€800 per month (for unskilled jobs), then an international student who works 2-3 days per week should easily be able to cover their living costs with their salary alone!
After completing your studies, you can stay in Hungary.
You can apply for a work permit and residency permit if your degree is related to the work you want to do. These permits allow you to apply for long-term residence after five years as well as giving access to benefits provided by the Hungarian government.
Visa Application Requirements.
If you want to study in Hungary, there are certain requirements that need to be met. At Eduropa OÜ we will go over what documents you need and how to get them.
1. Confirmation of Acceptance for studies
To be eligible for a student visa, you must have a letter of acceptance on the university’s letterhead and addressed to the applicant. It should include:
- Name of institution
- Course name or program name
- Student number (if applicable)
- Start date and end date of your studies
2. Medical Insurance
Medical insurance is required for all students. The insurance needs to be valid for the duration of your stay in Hungary, and it must cover any medical costs you may incur during that time period. The minimum coverage amount is €30,000 (approximately $35,400).
3. Proof of Financial Resources
You will need to prove that you have enough money to support yourself while in Hungary. This can be done by providing a bank statement showing that you have more than the required amount, or by providing an affidavit from your sponsor stating that they will cover all expenses for your stay in Hungary. The affidavit must include:
- Name and address of person who wants to sponsor you.
- A description of their relationship with you (e.g., family member, friend) and how long they’ve known each other; or if it’s just someone who has agreed to let them stay at their house but doesn’t know them well enough yet – then explain why this person would be willing to host someone without knowing much about them.
- Showing around €8,000 is recommended.
4. Passport and Pictures
Passport validity must be for at least 3 months after the end of your course.
Passport photos must be in color and 2×2 inches (5×5 cm). They must be taken within the last 6 months, and show a clear image of the face from the front with no sunglasses or headgear.
5. Extra Information
- If you study with our partner University IBS the accommodation details will be certified by the University in the on-campus Residence Hall (1031 Budapest, Reichl Kálmán u. 6) but it is your responsibility to arrange and pay for your accommodation.
